| We're really having a hard time keeping up with the name of this place. Formerly, Schießstätte (SHEE-State-Uh) and before that Königlich Bayerische Biergarten . . . it's now called Münchner Haupt' which is short for Königlich Privilegierte Hauptschützengesellschaft München 1406. That's the name of the centuries-old shooting club that owns and runs the beer garden and restaurant housed in a Victorian-style mansion. The club is still active, although entry is by invitation only. The beer garden is open to all. It has plenty of shade and fixed wooden tables which are always an indication of a genuine Bavarian beer garden with a lot of tradition. The Beer Drinker's Guide to Munich recommends a secret backdoor shortcut (extremely convenient and accessible from the Mittersendling S-Bahn stop) to get to Münchner Haupt'. The beer garden by any name you choose gets 4 beers. | ||||
