| People in rural, farming areas are familiar with so-called "truck gardens". Well, this is a "taxi garden". Nah, not really. It gets its name from the street address. Like Leiberheim, Taxisgarten shares a military past. It was established by a group of wounded World War I veterans in 1920. Except for a few portal adornments with a martial theme, there is not much in evidence to indicate its origins. Today, Taxisgarten is a favorite local watering hole with tremendous appeal to neighborhood regulars who consider this the place to meet and enjoy a beer and a great meal. We like it too and find the level of popular enjoyment to be extremely contagious. That's why we recommend it highly with a 3 1/2-beer rating. | ||||
