The Park Cafe is a nightclub to some, a beer garden to most, and its proximity to the Hauptbahnhof (Munich's main train station) makes it convenient to all. On Sophien Straße and literally around the corner from the train station, Park Cafe is actually a part of the Old Botanical Garden, thus the abundance of manicured flora and other green growing things. The nightclub is next door and doesn't really get going until about 10 p.m. in the evening and doesn't stop until around 4 a.m. The more sedate and -- for our limited money -- more inviting beer garden maintains mere mortal opening hours, although the kitchen closes at 10 p.m. May the god of finance help those who choose to head for Park Cafe the nightclub for a late night (early morning?) snack. Bring lots of cash if you do. Park Cafe is too close not to be given special prize for its accessibility and too good a beer garden not to be considered for a short visit after a 5-minute walk from the Hauptbahnhof. It gets 3 1/2 beers.
