Over the river and through the woods . . . you'll eventually get to Waldheim ("forest home"). Maybe a little bit beyond the beaten path, but still a terrific place for a beer and some decent grub. Get ready to share a table with the backpack and leather boot crowd, because a lot of these folks spend at least as much time in the outback as they do out in back of the restaurant where the beer garden sits. The tall timbers that surround this place will put you in the mood to listen to the call of the wild to order another liter of beer. Warning: you'll have to walk about a quarter mile to get to Waldheim, but the beer will taste just that much better when you arrive. It gets 3 1/2 beers.
