Waldwirtschaft Großhesselohe, or "WA-WI" (VAH-Vee), as locals refer to it, is a 5-beer club member and Prosit! Free-Beer offer participant. Thankfully so, because if there is any one beer garden that is an absolute must-see in Munich it is this one. This place has something for absolutely everybody. Live Jazz and Big Band sounds on weekends . . . one of the best outdoor schmankerl (fast food) stands . . . summer help from Ireland and England who make English the local lingue franc . . . a fantastic restaurant with reasonable prices . . . self-service beer lines that are made for those of us unable to postpone gratification and pleasure of any sort . . . on and on. What a wonderful place the Waldwirtschaft is. There isn't a lot more we need say about Waldwirtschaft Großhesselohe except for this: Go there! If you don't you are probably missing the best beer garden in Munich. Yes, it gets 5 beers PLUS, if there ever were such a rating. We've tried to think of some negatives, just for balance, but we can't find a thing. It's the best.
